keshi ‘Requiem’ World Tour in Dallas

by Uma Snow

August 5th brought keshi’s Requiem World Tour to The Bomb Factory, in Dallas, Texas.

Whether it’s because he himself is a Texas native, or because of the large Asian-American population here, keshi has a huge fanbase in Dallas—the packed venue and unprecedented traffic surrounding it reflected that. By the time openers Starfall and Mac Ayres wrapped up their sets, the crowd was buzzing with anticipation. keshi took the stage to the sound of loud cheers, launching into releases from his album Requiem. This was my fourth time seeing keshi live, and he performed with a fervour I hadn’t seen from him before. He moved across the stage with vigor and locked eyes with the audience as he sang. The crowd sang along to his every song, but especially loudly to “drunk.” To my delight, he played some of my own favorites, like “Texas,” “2 soon,” “War,” and “the reaper.” He ended the show with “Id,” which also serves as Requiem’s closing track. With a slow build-up and intense climax, it was the perfect song to end a perfect night.
